Our Pets Are Better Insured.

A report by Scottish Widows has revealed that Scottish people are a lot better than the rest of the UK when it comes to protecting themselves and their families.  The report found that Scots are more likely to have life or critical illness (CI) insurance than the rest of the UK, with around 54% owning life insurance.

The South and South East of the country has the lowest take-up of life insurance with only 41% of adults having taken out a policy.  Wales was the worst the worst region for CI and Income Protection take-up, with just 10% and 5% respectively.

Scottish Widows also revealed that when comparing these figures to those of pet insurance, more people stated they were likely to insure their pets (15%) before insuring their income (7%).
