One in 10 Check Online Account Everyday

According to a study by Norwich and Peterborough Building Society, checking bank accounts online can be addictive.  In a survey conducted to commemorate the 10 year anniversary of its online banking facility, the survey revealed that 8 per cent of customers check their statement several times a day and the majority of customers accessed it several times a week.  The survey also showed that 90 per cent of customers accessed their accounts from the comfort of their own home, 39 per cent preferred to do it in the evening, 56 per cent access their account during the day and 15 per cent of those do so during work.

Many customers said the internet had made their life easier and 25 per cent cited the greatest benefit was the convenience of being able to see their account details at any time of day.  A further 20 per cent said they liked the fact that they could keep a close eye on their accounts and could also quickly spot any possible fraudulent or mistaken transactions.
