The Treasury has announced that it is to make the UK tax system much simpler in an effort to encourage foreign investment.
A new Office for Tax Simplification will be set up to explore ways in which tax can be simplified with new reform.
Secretary to the Treasury David Gauke MP, suggested that the reforms will "give our economy the boost it so urgently needs in the years ahead".
The Office for Tax Simplification will be responsible directly for simplification and will not cross over with existing tax revenue collection, tax credits or other benefits currently overseen by HMRC and the DWP (Department for Work and Pensions).
