A recent story in an Industry paper highlighted that an employment law firm undertook a survey of independent financial advisers (IFAs) to see where they would be taking off for their holidays this year.
Shockingly, only 26% of IFA's are intending to take a break with the rest saying they are too busy.
Our view
Life in the IFA market is hectic and you can easily get carried away with everything that needs to be done, especially when you run your own business. In fact, as this article is being written, I should be on holiday!!
IFA's need to take a step back from their work and take at least a full day's break. It will benefit them personally and also their clients - you cannot be effective if you work all of the time.
With the amount of regulation and red tape involved for business owners in the financial services industry, there comes a time when you need to sit down and take stock. Is it really worth it?
