New Land Register For Properties

A new register for properties is to be launched by the Land Registry, which will only include properties sold more than once. This will provide details of price changes on the same property and even price changes in different areas.

The Land Registry are hoping that the new system will give the most accurate information of house prices in the country.

Our view

We believe this is an active move to monitor pricing with a view to future 'wealth taxes'. This has nothing to do with offering accurate information and more to do with a move away from Rateable Values and Council Tax and more to do with taxing you yearly on your total wealth.
