National Savings Free Overseas Transfers.

National Savings and Investments (NS&I) has announced that it will now transfer money overseas at no additional charges.

The NS&I international payments service will allow expats and others living overseas that hold qualifying national savings accounts to transfer monies to the following currencies:

  • Australia Dollars
  • Euros
  • Canada Dollars
  • Hong Kong Dollars
  • Israel Shekels
  • New Zealand Dollars
  • Singapore Dollars

You must have one of the following accounts:

  • Direct Saver
  • Direct ISA
  • Income Bonds
  • Premium Bonds

To qualify for the free payments service you must:

  • Have an international bank account in: Australia, Canada, Euro Payments Area, Hong Kong, Israel, New Zealand or Singapore.
  • The account must be in your own name or held jointly with someone else.
  • Be registered for NS&I’s online and phone service.
  • Send an original paper statement, or certified copy from your international bank account proving it is in your name.
