MPs Criticise HMRC.

The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has criticised HMRC over its management of the new PAYE system.  Problems with the new system were first highlighted in September 2010 when it revealed that 6.6 million people had overpaid or underpaid tax in the two years 2008-10.

However, there are still a further 15 million people on the new system who have still not had their tax affairs sorted out for the years 2004-05 to 2007-08.  The MPs are demanding that everyone's PAYE should be processed within 12 months of the end of the tax year.
