More people are going online to not only buy groceries, but also to buy financial products too, according to research from Sainsbury's Bank.
The supermarket is predicting a further 27% increase in online purchasing of financial products this year, after visitors to its website increased by 208% in 2004.
Research by NOP World Financial, has supported this prediction, and shows that 92,000 people bought mortgages online last year compared to 82,000 the year before. In 2003 a total of 2.3 million people went online for financial services, a figure that rose to 3.3 million in 2004.
