Millions Planning To Move Home
According to research from Alliance and Leicester, more than 3m homeowners are looking to move house in the next year in spite of a gloomy outlook in the housing market. Thirteen per cent of the UK’s 25m homeowners are planning to sell their home and 38 per cent of people have already made improvements to increase the sale appeal of the property.
Our view
The reality is that if you are already on the property ladder it is much easier to move as you are likely to have equity. In addition, if you sell at a lower value than you could have last year you will also be able to buy at a lower price so this may prove more favourable than last year if you are upgrading.
