Metro Bank, the first new bank in the UK for over 100 years has opened its first branch in London.
Metro Bank is the brainchild of US bank founder Vernon Hill who has 500 similar branches in the US.
Metro Bank are targeting those people who are dissatisfied with their existing banks by offering simplified banking features such as:
- Focused customer service
- Seven days a week opening
- Out of hours opening
- Simplified and standard interest rates for loans 10%, overdrafts 15% and deposit interest 0.5%
Metro Bank aims to be able to open an account in under 15 minutes and expand to 200 branches in and around London in the next 10 years.
