Merkel Says EU Budget Deal Unlikely.

As negotiations for the 2014-2020 budget continue in Brussels, there are doubts that a deal will be agreed.

The German Chancellor Angela Merkel is one such person who thinks that an agreement will not be reached.  This was after the discussions in Brussels was adjourned until today at 11am.

The disagreements had caused the opening of the summit to be delayed for three hours.

The President of the European Council Herman Van Rompuy who revised the new budget did believe that a compromise would be able to be reached but possibly at a further summit.
