Published / Last Updated on 26/11/2021

Across the globe, markets tumbled on Friday with fears that a new, stronger and easier to spread covid-19 variant had appeared in South Africa and has since spread to Israel and Hong Kong.

Today, China’s Shanghai Composite closed down 0.56% on the day with Hong Kong’s Hang Seng down 2.67% and Japan’s Nikkei down 2.53%.

The risk of contagion across Europe and North America is still hitting markets and at the time of writing (3.30pm),  FTSE 100 is down 3.27%, German Dax 3.49% and French CAC down 4.30%.

US markets have not long opened but the Dow Jones is already down 2.5%.

Comment

  • If you are invested, hold, markets will recover.
  • If you are holding cash looking for opportunity investing, may be now is the time.
  • If you are drip feeding, may be now is the time to accelerate and fully invest.

What ever happens, know that traders do not make any money unless there is movement, so markets are more volatile than normal.  Therefore, you should make any bigger investment decisions until we all know more.  In addition and we repeat, markets will recover.
