Many Online Shops Breaking The Law

Many Online Shops Breaking The Law.

The Office of Fair Trading (OFT) has claimed that more than a third of the UK’s top online retailers are breaking the law.  The OFT found failings in returns policies, refunds and hidden charges that do not display until the end of the sale.  Given that this year is likely to be the biggest Christmas online spend ever, the OFT has given online shops until Christmas to comply.

Our view
Good news.  All retailers are required to comply with the general laws for
Sale of Goods and Services in the UK as well as online they must also comply with the Distance Marketing and Selling Regulations.  We all want clear and transparent terms, conditions and charges when we buy online.
