Low Commercial Property Returns

Published / Last Updated on 01/10/2007

Latest figures released by Industry Property Databank show that the monthly returns in United Kingdom commercial property has dropped to its lowest for 12 years during July.

The index for July showed a capital return of – 0.2per cent and an income return of 0.4per cent giving an all property return of 0.2 per cent.

However, for the year to July all-property returns were 11.1 per cent, which was also down on the year-to-June data.

Our view

Commercial property whilst appearing to reach the top of their economic may have some mileage in them given recent turmoil in World stockmarkets.  We suggest this area may still be the mot stable to be invested in for the next few months.
