Local Government Pension Scheme Costs
Administration software provider AquilaHeywood says delays in issuing regulations for the new-look Local Government Pension Scheme has increased implementation costs considerably.
They said although they had managed to produce its software in time for the 1 April launch, the delay in regulations had made things difficult.
They had to develop several different versions of the software, working from the drafts that they received.
Our view
Yet another example of Government waste. Nobody really controls the purse strings, there are no penalties for failure, no ‘heads have rolled’. This is why we live in such a highly taxed nation and see little benefit for the tax that is paid.
