According to the Association of British Insurers, sales of life and pension policies increased by a quarter over the last three months.
The body believes that all of the press and publicity surrounding the changes to pensions in April brought the topic to the fore with the general public.

A lot of the increase seen from April to June will have been to do with the movement of pension money to take advantage of the new rules.
We have seen many clients wanting to take advantage of the new rules and this has resulted in new business.
We believe the results have been artificially inflated and would like to see what the sales figures are for the three months covering July to September.
