Liberals Call For Finance Education In Schools

The Liberal Democrats have called for 'Financial Education' to be included in the national curriculum as part of their debt action plan.  Vince Cable, the Liberal Democrat Shadow Chancellor, has set out 10 policies, one of which calls for the Government to create national independent advice centres providing 'financial healthchecks'  

Another policy calls on the Financial Services Authority to investigate the mortgage protection insurance market, and issue guidelines on 'non-income-verified-mortgages.  The policy also calls fore the FSA to ensure credit promotion and advertising have health warnings.
