A recent survey by an online estate agent has revealed that conveyancing solicitors are the weakest link when it comes to buying a home. Apparently, 500 people were surveyed by the estate agent and the results revealed that home buyers felt solicitors offered the worst service and value for money when it came to buying a home.
Surveyors came out top for quality and value for money. Less than 50% of people polled believed that estate agents were good at minimising delays.
Our View
Who on earth did they survey???? Whilst we would have to agree (if even from personal experience) with the solicitor and estate agent comments, if anyone can tell us which surveyors are quality and value for money, we would be most grateful.
Our experience has been poor overall, to say the least in the property buying stakes when it comes to engaging 'professionals'. Based on this, we really do welcome the introduction of the sellers packs.
