Research from UCB Home Loans has found that two thirds of 16 to 21 year olds would rather become estate agents than mortgage brokers. Although it is not seen as an exiting career by younger people, interest in becoming a broker increases with age.
It has been suggested that a 'Jamie Oliver-style' role model is needed to raise the profile of the profession, and that brokers should go to work on skateboards while listening to ipods!
