Invesco Perpetual Topples Fidelity For Top Spot

Published / Last Updated on 08/01/2008

Fund management

Invesco Perpetual has taken over from Fidelity as the UK’s biggest fund firm, this is the first time in nearly eight years that Fidelity has not been number one.

Much of Invesco’s rise can be put down to income guru Neil Woodford’s performance on the flagship higher income and income funds.

Our view

This is an amazing result for Invesco Perpetual.  However, we suggest that Equity Income funds may not be the place to be in 2008.  We suggest FTSE 100 Blue Chip Funds and Far East.
