Interest Rates Unchanged

The Bank of England Monetary Policy Committee has today voted to keep base rates at 4%.

Our view:

This is a surprise, we expected an increase of 0.25% given the still increased pressure on the housing market.  It seems that the Bank this time have had one eye on hard pushed companies who can ill afford further increases on company debt or making their goods more expensive overseas by making the pound even stronger.
