Interest Base Rates Held Again

The Bank of England Monetary Policy Committee has again decided to hold base rates at 5% again.

Our view

As predicted, we are not surprised with this news.  We suspect that with oil prices falling and with a new gas supply line due very shortly, the basic costs of power will reduce which in turn have a knock on effect for energy, petrol and food prices.

This, we hope, should curb inflation a little.  If we do not see any better news throughout the rest of August then expect some movement in September.
