The Association of British Insurers (ABI) is counting the cost of the clean-up bill following the floods in June and July. They estimate that the cost of the flooding will be around £2.5 billion.
Insurance companies are currently handling 50,0000 claims for homes and business damaged during the floods. However, due to the high volume of claims the Association of British Insurers are warning that, although assessors are working flat out, it may take sometime for claims to be settled.
