Zurich has joined forces with Help the Aged to help the older homeless people of East London. Over the next three years Zurich will donate £70,000 through its charitable community trust and Help the Aged will contribute £30,000. The cash will be used in a project which will target areas such as Hackney, Tower Hamlets and the City and will provide basic life skills and adult education opportunities for older homeless people. A survey conducted in 2000 showed that in London, on any one night, there can be around 700 people over the age of 50 sleeping in hostels. Zurich are pleased to be in partnership with Help the Aged and look forward to making a positive difference to some of the most vulnerable people in our society.
