Insurance Protection Unpopular

Research commissioned by the Association of British Insurers (ABI) has shown, despite the increasingly pessimistic economic outlook, many consumers are shunning protection insurance products.  The survey revealed that 92 per cent of consumers think that the economy is in a worse state than a year ago, more than 8 in 10 (82 per cent) expect the economic environment to worsen over the next 12 months, while 69 per cent said they would not take out any protection insurance products in the future.

It is slightly worrying that people are not considering protection insurance such as redundancy cover given the uncertain economic outlook.
