One-man-band business owners should soon be exempt from having to take out and maintain employer's liability insurance.
A consultation on the issue has recently been launched and will last until June this year. The main benefit to people in this situation will obviously be the cost saving.
Our View
The act of removing compulsory employer's liability insurance could affect upto 300,000 companies where the owner is the sole employee.
How many sole employee business owners would claim on their own employer's liability policy? Maybe the Department for Work and Pensions will see the error of their ways!!
