Inflation Up Again

UK Consumer Prices Index (CPI) went up again in October from 3.1% to 3.2% pa.

Supposedly this increase was on the back on higher fuel prices.

UK Retail Prices Index (RPI) fell by 0.1% to 4.5%.

Much is written about the need for Mervyn King the Governor of the Bank of England to now have to now have to write to the Chancellor to explain his failure to control inflation and have it 1% lower at target “trend growth” of 2.5% but we have already suggested that we believe inflation is being stage managed into devalue long term government debt.
