Inflation Falls to 4 Per Cent

Inflation Falls to 4 Per Cent.

The UK Consumer Prices Index annual rate of inflation has dropped to 4 per cent.  The Retail Prices Index inflation also fell to 5.3 per cent.

According to the Bank of England governor Mervyn King, inflation is likely to remain well above target for 2011, before falling back in 2012, based on bank rate increases in line with market expectations.
