Iceland Borrows €4bn From Russia

Iceland has been forced to borrow €4bn from Russia to prop up its Banking system and economy when its European neighbours failed to come to its aid.

Rumours have been rife that a promise was also made to give Russia access to a discussed former US air base although Icelandic authorities moved quickly to deny such a promise.
