How Much Is Your Partner Worth?

Published / Last Updated on 18/03/2002

Legal and General have again published their revised survey about how much the value of a partner is that does not work but stays at home to look after the home and/or children.

Their survey results results showed that house mums valued their work at £239 per week whereas Dads valued it at £221 per week.

Legal & General have said that the average houseperson works 63 hours per week.  That would cost around £22,000 per year if you had to pay someone to do the household chores!

Message:  As well as insuring the "money making machine" that goes out to work every day don't forget to insure the "mechanics" that maintain it and keep it working everyday.  What would happen if you lost your partner?  Could you cope?  Could you look after the children?  Would you give up work.
