House Prices Up And Down.
Contrary to Nationwide’s earlier findings, Halifax’s own index has suggested that UK house prices rose marginally by 0.6% in January. The reality is house prices are static as present.
The average cost of a house in January was £160,907. According to Martin Ellis, Halifax’s housing economist, if the UK can avoid a prolonged recession, they expect broad stability in house prices in 2012.
