House Prices Set to Stall

According to Nationwide, the UK housing market will pause for breath in 2008, with house price inflation falling from just short of 10% to zero.  

Other industry commentators are predicting a UK economic growth slowdown and a period of interest rate cuts.  

Our view

The Bank of England and Government has got exactly what it wanted.  Whether we like it or not, this is boom and bust, just like the Tories but in property not in shares.
