House Asking Prices Down 3.3 Per Cent

House Asking Prices Down 3.3%.

Rightmove has published figures showing that the average sale/asking price for property on their website has reduced by 3.3% in December.

Given the size of Rightmove, this is a fair reflection that house prices in the UK are still falling.

The average asking price in December fell by £7,772 i.e.  3.3% on the month.

Our view
Pressure on jobs and property continues.  January has seen a continuation of big brand firms calling in the receivers such as HMV, Jessops and Blockbuster.  Whilst continuing to trade, there will of course be many smaller businesses impacted by not just these closures but economic slowdown overall.

House prices will remain flat for 2013.
