Home Sellers Packs

Published / Last Updated on 23/01/2003

There has been much in the news recently regarding sellers' packs for those people buying and selling homes.

Yorkshire Bank recently conducted a survey into what buyers and sellers thought of the pack introduction.

85% of 2,500 adults surveyed were in favour.  One in five people that were in favour said they would provide a survey of their house at the start of the process if it speeded things up.  The reverse was that one in ten people said they wouldn't know whether or not to trust a survey provided by sellers.

Around a quarter of the people surveyed were planning to move home in the next year but a quarter of those said that they would not be looking to borrow the maximum on mortgage.  There was a feeling of the possibility for negative equity and people did not want their borrowings to exceed the value of their home.
