Home Information Seller Packs Gain Support?

Published / Last Updated on 13/04/2005

The Office of the Deputy Prime Minister issued research recently, showing public support for the introduction of Home Information Packs.  The survey revealed that more than 80% of those questioned think that it is a good idea.  But only one in six people who had problems buying or selling a home think that the provision of information upfront would have improved things.

Our view

Home Improvement Packs will have a negative effect on smaller independent estate agents, as larger chains will be more able to bear the cost of the packs.   We also belief that it will actually increase the costs of buying a home rather than not.
