Home Information Packs Back On In August

Published / Last Updated on 11/07/2007

The introduction of Home Information Packs (HIPs) has been delayed until 1 August for properties with four bedrooms or more, it has been confirmed that 3,000 home inspectors would be needed to cover the whole of the market and there is a huge shortage.

The introduction of Home Information Packs and Energy Certificates is seen as a way of improving the buying and selling of properties, in the interest of the consumer and the environment.

Our view

It is an utter joke that any introduction of new law has to be postponed.  Where was the planning?  We have not seen any heads roles for the delay in introduction. Jobs for the boys no doubt.
