At their annual conference, The Law Society confirmed they will develop a product to help solicitors prepare home information packs (HIP). They believe that the product would offer a number of services including an efficient online system.They have said that the packs will be fully compliant with the government's regulations, and will be competitively priced.
At the conference, around 120 solicitors were polled as to whether they intended to provide home information packs. In total, 63% said that they would provide HIPs next year, 13% were undecided, and 13% who had no immediate plans to offer the packs in the future.
Our view
There will be many software providers who will already have packages in development for this need.
