
HMRC Tax Return Deadline.
With the final deadline for those who need to submit a self-assessment tax form approaching, HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) have estimated there are still 2.5 million yet to be submitted.
The final deadline for the end of tax year forms for April 2013 is this Friday and HMRC have only received 8.3 million so far, for those who do not submit their self-assessment forms on time they may receive a fine.
People who need to submit their forms are mainly self-employed, however some high earning parents who claim child benefit may also need to submit a self-assessment.
This deadline is only for those who submit their form online, for anyone who submits via a paper form the deadline was the 31st of October.
People who fail to submit their form could face an on the spot £100 fine as well as a daily £10 charge up to the maximum of £900 if the form is not submitted.
