HMRC Jokers Close Website 5 April.

Following last year’s tax chaos when millions of people were given incorrect PAYE codes, HMRC is planning to suspend online access for the public on 5 April, for routine computer maintenance.

This means that people will have to rely on contacting HMRC by telephone for the four days covering the end of this tax year and the beginning of the next one, even though HMRC have admitted that they are not happy with the telephone service they provide.
