It will be splashed across every newspaper and television channel today that home information packs become a legal requirement when selling a property.
Initially for four bedroomed homes and above, the requirement will be phased in across the whole country and all types of houses over time.
Our view
Tongue in cheek - we wonder how many houses will now miraculously have three bedrooms and a study? Seriously though, we believe Home Information Packs, whilst an additional cost for the seller, will quicken up the basic search and completion process when buying property. They will also encourage us all to take a look at the energy efficiency of our homes.
