Help to Buy Needs Revisiting

Help to Buy Needs Revisiting.

Liberal Democrat Vince Cable has recently said he thinks the Help to Buy scheme needs revisiting as a growing housing boom continues in London and the South East.

This news comes after figures from the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) and Lloyds Banking Group show that around 6,000 people have made offers on properties and 750 have completed a purchase using the Help to Buy Scheme.

The housing boom in London and the South needs addressing and could get out of control if interest rates are not raised, but doing so would hit others around the country who have not seen a housing boom.

People for a number of years have found themselves shut out of the property market due to the size of deposit required for a mortgage and to see 6,000 people making offers using Help to Buy in only 3 months since the scheme was started shows that it is proving very popular.
