Greek Cabinet Also Say Yes For Referendum.
Greece’s cabinet has given their backing to hold a referendum on an EU debt rescue package. Markets recorded huge drops amid surprised reactions to the referendum announcement. Greece’s PM George Papandreaou is due to meet European leaders on Wednesday.
Mr Papandreou has told ministers that the government needed the consent of the Greek people. The referendum will take place as soon as possible, following the basics of the bailout deal being formulated.
