Research has revealed that grandparents, aunts, uncles and godparents contribute an estimate of £70,000 towards the support of children up to the age of 21, in one in four families. The report from JPMorgan Asset Management also found that, in addition to that sum, children were set to inherit almost £33,000 from the 24% of respondents who said that they planned to leave part of their estate to them when they die.
