A new survey from the Woolwich has revealed that over £10.6 billion was spent on moving home last year, excluding the cost of the house! Almost half of this total was spent on stamp duty, £3.2 billion on estate agents fees, and over £1 billion was spent on legal fees.
The cost of moving for an average priced property in this country now stands at £5,551, which is an increase of £174 compared with last year. The Woolwich estimate that the cost of moving could become a deterrent, as it equates to around a quarter of the average persons salary.
