Fracking is a method of extracting natural gasses from places that were once unreachable by older technologies, this is done by injecting fluid into the ground at high pressure to release the gas.
A lot of anger has been seen over fracking, the reason behind this is due to the fact that up to 600 different chemicals are used in the process leading to concerns over contamination of water. This is just one reason, others include dangers of earth tremors and environmental damage.
£30m is being invested by French company Total for drilling in Lincolnshire. Total is the first company to invest in fracking in the UK.
