Forget Pensions Look At Property

Despite pensioners worrying about receiving smaller pensions, it looks like they will be better off than they ever thought.  According to the Centre for Economics and Business Research, pensioners will on average have £160,000 of equity in their properties by 2010.  Over 750,000 pensioners will apparently also be millionaires! 

Our View 

The figures highlight that we are experiencing different cycles in different markets.  Whilst the equity markets have been notoriously poor since 2000, property prices have rocketed.  The results speak for themselves don't put all of your money into one area.  Spread it around different sectors because each sector moves in a cycle.  If your money and assets are spread, you should benefit when any market or sector is rising.
