First Time Buyers Struggle

Research from the Council of Mortgage lenders has shown that would-be first time buyers are being put off by affordability problems.  Because of this, the number of young people under the age of 25, who want to own their own home within 2 years, has dropped over the last two decades from 79% in 1983, to 43% in 2005. 

Our view

It has always been the case that youngsters trying to get on the property ladder struggle.  Our parents and grandparents had the same problems.
