A study from Friends Provident has found that Tobacco, alcohol and gambling no longer rate highly as ethical concerns. War was the top worry for all age groups for both men and women, with provision for the elderly, pollution, human rights child labour and immigration also ranking highly.
Smoking and drinking, which are traditionally major concerns in this poll, ranked 24 and 26 out of 30. Gambling only just made it in this year, at number 30!
The poll found that immigration wasn't as important to those aged between 18 and 24, as it was to the over 35's.
Women seemed to be more concerned about child labour than men, who were much more concerned about conservation and renewable energy sources.
Our view
People have the right to choose where there money is invested and it is interesting how different age brackets and different sexes have very different attitudes to what is socially acceptable.
