A date has apparently been set for the report that looks into the virtual collapse of Equitable Life.
Lord Penrose has come under increased pressure to finalise his report and it will apparently be finished in June and published in July this year. The review of Equitable Life will apparently go back to the 1950's and include the way business was conducted, the actions of their former auditors and also the financial history of the company.
The report was originally commissioned in 2001 and, when completed, will be put to the Chancellor for identification of bad business practices. Equitable's full financial report will be released in April, following the preliminary one on March 31 this year. We are sure that the solvency issue will again be raised.
