Employees Give Up Holidays

Expedia says, work demands and the credit crunch will cause 25 per cent of employees to cancel their annual leave this year.  Research showed, six million workers would not take their full holiday entitlements this year and 20 per cent of employees would have to cancel holidays due to last minute work commitments.

According to Expedia, 14 per cent of workers thought it necessary to take their work with them on holiday, while 5 per cent were opting to sell their annual leave back to the company or to colleagues.

Our view

Take your holidays.  If you are an employer you must force your staff to take a break to recharge.  If you are an employee, take your time off, you will become ill if you do not take regular breaks.
